Anita Zakaryan:

Bahjat Khader:

From Palestine, born in 1977, he has three brothers and three sisters. Holding a B.A in business. recently living in Beirut having his M.Div. theological studies. He is preparing to serve Christ wherever the Spirit takes him. His hobbies are  football, table tennis, volleyball. His wishes are all toward inner peace for all.

Florian Jäckel:

A genuine Saarlandian, yet somewhat considering himself a cosmopolitan after stays in Illinois, United States and Latakia, Syria, he started studying Catholic Theology and Islamic Sciences in Tübingen, Germany. His interest, though, branches out to religion, philosophy and philology in general, especially in the context of the Middle East. The SIMO program gave him a great opportunity to develop a passion for playing Backgammon and to torture his environment by starting discussions.

Gladys Abboud:

Gladys Abboud, is 23 years old. This is her third year at NEST. She is doing Master in Christian education.  She is a Lebanese girl from North Lebanon. She finished the Bachelor degree in Graphic design in the Lebanese University then she decided to change the major to a more sophisticated one.  Even that it was a major shift in her life, but she didn’t regret. She always had the feeling that it was a good idea to come here. For her, NEST is the place where she is growing not only intellectually but also on many levels.
She met different cultures while she is here.  Add to this, it is a very rich experience, to affect and to be affected by different Christians from very different places in the world.

Jiro:

Born In Beirut (Port Region) and an in-care students of the union of the armenian evangelical  churches of the near east. Hobbies: Playing piano and guitar…also interested in street intelligence and wants to become a youth pastor in the future. Currently studying psychology in Haigazian University. Interested in hanging out and spending time with teenagers and worshipping with them. Simo Students are good to hang out with to increase self-knowledge, friendship and fun ….even sports…!!!!

Kerstin Jud:

Born in Burgenland (Austria), student of Protestant Theology and German Philology. She is 21 and her special interest lies in interreligious and ecumenical relations. Also, the study of protestant theology in the Middle Eastern context, compared to the middle European context is one of her reasons, she decided to attend the SIMO program.

Rana Khoury:

Born in Beirut (Lebanon), graduate of architecture from The American University of Beirut. At NEST, she attended the “Church History” course that she needed for her final year project. And ever since she attends courses on religion and church matters. Rana is an artist with special emphasis on modern Arabic calligraphy. Her aim is to bring together art, architecture, literature, and religion.

Thomas Schönberger:

Born in Styria (Austria) he started an apprenticeship as an electrician and worked over 10 years for an energy company in Austria. In 2004 he started his Social- and Cultural Anthropology study and got his degree (Mag) in 2009. Interested in Christian-Muslim relations, studies of prejudice and cultural perceptions, he attends the SiMO-Program regarding his Phd-frameworks.

Verena Kozman:

Salim Dawani:

He is from Palestine (Nablus), he graduated An Najar University in Palestine. He has a Bachelor in Business Administration, after that he worked as an accountant in Nablus, furthermore he worked for the church as a volunteer. In 2007 he decided to go to Beirut and study in the Near East School of Theology. At the moment he is responsible for the treasury of the Students at Nest.
